from a "best of both worlds" perspective maybe mate.

the cornering ability of a MK1 with the out right power of the MR2 turbo is driving heaven to me! well it would be if you moved the air con over from the MKII and the MKII dash :) i like my creature comforts! :D

tbh i'm not surprised as there has been a few notable people who have gone from tubbies to MK1s and much prefer them.

Jon Leech and Paul Moores to name just two.

and me too! :)

mainly coz i think paying £5k for an '88 car that will rust like mad is mental when you can get a higher powered MR2 turbo for the same money and that is unlikely to rust, plus it has a proper mans 2 litre engine :D

i think the best MR2 was probably paul woods MK1 turbo!

No you went the other way!!! What i was saying is that i know a fair few people who have gone from madly modded tubbies to MK1s and much prefer it. I really wish you would listen! ;)

Some for sale on here:

Not sure how current though. Was amused to find one SC there that can hit 100mph in 8 seconds :!:

Whilst we are plugging SC's I thought I would drop a note in about my freshly launched website (great thanks to Yoav Felberbaum who developed it for me!)

www.mk1toyotamr2.co.uk <--- has just been relaunched in a new guise. We are covering Japanese Imports of Mk1 MR2's. Very much feeling the water at the moment and trying to gauge the level of interest in it.

Have a look at the site people, only one car on it atm. Let me know what you think of the layout, idea etc....

Like the articles, but its a real pity i can't read them as the scannage quality doesn't hold up when you zoom in. :(

Its okay but the page for imports really isn't very good.

You'd be better off listing what you are getting in with pictures rather than showing a timeline with dates which is mostly empty.

I think its great if you can import MK1s it does seem a very specialist market though so i'm not sure how much demand will be, so you may need to diversify a bit. How about importing some nice 86's? ;)

Wayne, ...... i love the site, something a bit different than the rest, i love the Models section and magazine section, i would love to see something like that on this site as its normally the first port of call for a lot of MR2 newbies, especially now the site is firing on all cylinders and in the 21st century, i will keep it in my favorites section and keep an eye on its progress, cheers, Jinxy

Its only the first day Lauren!!!!! Over the next couple of weeks, the "timeline" will swell and where it says "No cars listed" will become 3, 4, 5 cars listed etc.... Remember its New Year aswell!! Check back next week and it will be more full!

Basically, we are taking info off Jap Auction sites and displaying it independently. We are not charging to bid etc.... Like most of the others do, its a service for enthusiasts, and not a profit making venture for me. Its also something I like doing :-) The cars displayed are ones going through auctions - not ones I am getting "in stock".

Aware of the demand thingy, but like I say, its just feeling the water at the moment, I've had alot of people ask me "how its done" and this site is offering the chance for them to see how its done. There are often some nice AE86's listed - perhaps one day..... Though there is a big difference between people saying they would like to bring one [an SC] over, and them actually doing it - but those who dare......................!
