Standard stereo system connections SW20

Hi can anyone point me in the right direction for info relating to the standard stereo system fitted to the mk2 imports i have just bought a standard double din / tape radio cd of e bay only to find that the connector in my rev 3 import does not fit the rear of the unit even after unplugging the iso adapter I have two seperate plugs looks like ones power and ones the speakers this unit has one common plug . Have I made a mistake and bought the unit that requires the external amplifier if so Doh! can anyone help please cheers : Mike

Mike, it does sound like you've got a head unit of a different spec to the car unit - some did have external amps (they were the 'premium sound system') and some had speakers driven directly from the head unit.
