hello,
will any stereo fit into a MK1a?
will it go straight in, or will it need to have adapters to make it fit?
Any help is much appreciated.

Re: stereo change
I would imagine any headunit will fit, but you will need an adaptor. You can get this from various places, autoleads, halfrauds etc.

..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Re: stereo change
I've installed one on a mk1b, it didnt fit and required the original mountings to be sawn off the pocket. I know the a's setup is entirely different but be warned that it may not fit

Re: stereo change
I have a Sony =Cdx2000 cd stereo to go into my mk1a.
is it just a case of buying the adaptor to plu ingto OE plugs to convert to ISO and then into stereo?
Also....anyone know of any good earthing point in that part of the dash?

Re: stereo change
I used an adapter to go from the toyota connector to iso. I think you then need another connector to go into the back of the head unit. Halfords had all the ones i needed.
as for an earthing point, i've got no idea!
