Perhaps it would be a good idea if we could have a named and shamed section, this could be used to warn people away from dodgy garages/ mechanics/ suppliers and the likes??
Also we could have a recomended section where we can praise said businesses!
thanks

Re: Named and Shamed?
exactly . The feedback system would only work for traders who have an imoc login, but the named and shamed can be used for all companies. If this has been suggested so many times WHY HAS NO-ONE DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!

Re: Named and Shamed?
fair enough, but why has it not been confirmed whether this will be Instigated or not?

For a quick overview, see

Its something we'd certainly like to do, but it would have to be hand coded (or ported over) from scratch - that kind of job will easily take 20-25 hours to do.
Steve in the thead above makes a good point about the problem with feedback sites is that everyone leaves everyone else +ve feedback even with a less than ideal transaction - as they're all so afraid of getting negative feedback. This basically stops the feedback being worthwhile.
In terms of priorities, getting the Portal, Garage, Knowledgebase, a PayPal payment facility, Mail2forum are all having greater value to IMOC at the moment, but it is something that we'll keep on the to-do list - it may take a while before the above are all completed before we get around to this.

Re: Named and Shamed?
Just want to add a tiny bit to Ben's post.
You may not be aware but we have a test site where we check code we write or use from someone else to make sure it does not break anything. We try to keep the test and live site pretty much the same so that we have a good test bed.
Obviously new stuff goes onto test first. However currently we have a large number of changes on the test site that we need to sync across to live. We need to get this done and we are working hard towards it, though it takes time.
While it might seem that a rating system is more important that say the new profile system we need to get all test code live before we start to introduce more.
It is defo on the to-do list though and will get done as some stage.
