Carbon-Fibre Border Bonnets

Post by dave wall »

Hi all

Just wondering who would be interested in a carbon fibre border bonnet? I've just ordered one from a supplier in the states, and if the quality is decent I might order 10-15 more to sell on over here. If I did, the price would be about £400.

Just trying to gauge interest at the moment, see if its worth me bothering.

dave ;)

I think shaf has just done the same, so not sure how much interest you'll get.

Oh mate....you're kidding?!??!?!? Ah well never mind, Ive paid for mine now :)

Haven't been around for a while cos a few things happened at work so I'm working from home now......doing about 3 hours a day for 8 hours pay! lol :D Got quite a lot more expendable cash now that I'm not putting £50 of optimax a week in the car too!!! So ordered myself a spangly new carbon border bonnet, then probably revision 6 lights after xmas.....If I haven't drunk all my money away by then :)

how's the pimping business going anyways mate? Still got that purple velvet suit?

Dave mate, if shaf's group buy falls through are you still going to go ahead with yours? because there's a few on here who would be interested.

possibly, but I'll have to decide that after mine arrives and I've seen the quality.

The big problem is though......by coincidence Ive ordered my bonnet from the exact same place as shaf! So the likelihood is that if shaf cant get it sorted then neither can I :(

How comes there so much?

You can get them for around £250 each so surely 15 would be way cheaper

Got a custom one so no need

My bro is a model designer....very handy with fibre glass. Could possibly offer a similar product to mine for a bout £120

They wouldn't be factory quality as they would be hand made, so each one a little different. In fact I might buy a few more spare bonnets and make a few?

I'm lookin at making a one off tom's scoop and some other bits too

I've got an RFQ out with an American manufacturer for 10 bonnets.

I'm very confident I can do them for £300 all in each.

I'll let people know as soon as I know.
