Problem with standard CD unit...help!

Post by darrenmr2 »

Ive got a 1993 GT Turbo with a standard CD, tape and radio head unit. I actually quite like it...but the problem is the CD player just spits the CD back out when i put it in. It turns a small amount in the head unit then spits out!Any ideas?? Or is it my taste in music?! lol :D Ive tried a CD head cleaner thingy but again it just spits it out!

age old problem and I think every original MR2 cd player has suffered with it ...

mine will only play brand new cd's and even then, it won't play them for long before rejecting them.

I believe from old posts there is nothing you can do and even taking the player apart and cleaning or replacing parts doesn't work well.

buying a new one is the only answer I think!

This might not be much help, but I used to have this problem all the time and the problem has almost gone after nearly 2 years.

I just persevered and the problem disappeared for no apparent reason.

CDs still jump around sometimes though.:?

Hope this helps.

(probably won't though)
