Which would get you faster times?

Post by ENSMR2 »

I hope this is the right section as its sort of mod related.

Which would get you the fastest 1/4 mile times?

Small wheels or big ones? When it comes to it I'd like to get involved. If I had stock size rims ie 15's but got a really wide tyre on it (for traction), would I be faster than with 17's?

For drag racing ideally you want the lightest wheels possible. Up front you'd want a very skinny wheel - e.g. 15 x 4

On the back you want a high walled tyre as wide as you can get - something like a 275/50/15

Sort of like this;

Small turbos - they're not big and they're not clever!

Just say NO to small turbos!

Cheers dude.

Where can I source these wide rims and tyres from?

I'm not sure but I think you can get wide high walled tyres on quite narrow rims - plenty of US guys run 245 drag tyres on a 15x8 rim.

The 275's shown above did require the arches to have work done on them.
