New astra

Post by The Morris »

Nothing to do with MR2's, but have you seen the new astra. 240 BHP plus it looks good. Im sure we all started out in a hot hatch and this is one that could tempt me back. If i had £20k

NO no no no no no....no!

Never started in a hot hatch, never want one! Whats hot about them exactly? The engine drives the wrong wheels, they are not a sports car, and have flocks of them hanging around the local McD's and Halfords car park!

Think what else you could get for 20k! 2nd Hand TVR cerbera, Porche Boxter S, VX200 turbo, Lotus exige.....even an EVO 8 etc.......

20k is a lot of money for an astra!

I agree, 20k is a lot for an astra, even if the quality is good and it's quick. Not a lot of kudos points for saying you drive one either!

Nothing wrong with hot hatches though - used to have a wee Toyota Starlet Turbo and loved it to bits.

An Astra is not a cool car, but when you compare it to its rivals, it will kick there ar$e. I drove the focus RS, how boring is that car and thats the same price at 40 bhp less
