Had my rev3 turbo off the road for a few months doing the head gasket and new clutch, put her back together and now it wont turn over. I have replaced the starter motor and tested the cables and found that there is 12v running to the starter. There's also 12v running to the solenoid when unplugged but only 2v when plugged in and turned over it also dims all the dah lights. I've checked battery and benched the starter and all good
Really confused with this hope someone can help

have you tested the starter off the car ? if lights are dimming it either cant turn the engine( duff starter) or battery to low
can you turn the engine by hand ?
can you turn the engine by hand ?
If you see an MR2 with a raised engine cover, the bottom line is it's probably faster than your car.

The engine turn by hand no probs

Try running a separate earth to the starter. It sounds like a earthing issue. You can also run a separate cable to the solonoid from the starter and touch it on the live feed in the fuse box to see if it turns over

How did u check the battery? Just putting a meter on it wont test it. You need to do a drop test on it. My money is on the battery
