Coil Pack Crack

Post by [email protected] »

FYI

This is causing me a stuttering misfire at high rpm and boost. No spark, fuel flooding the cylinders and then engine stalls.

If you are needing to use the car but have to wait for a new coil to arrive, you can get away with drying that one out in the airing cupboard or oven on very low. Once dry just fill that crack with araldite or rtv silicon.

That bracket needs a clean up also as the coil earths through the bracket. If the screw heads are knackered you can drill the heads off with a spot weld bit then pull the coil off then get grips on the remaining thread.

If you get prepared by buying 4 M4x15mm machine screws and have some sand paper and if you have an M4 tap to clean out the threads that would be good.

Thanks for the help

We are changing the whole setup to a coil on plug style. So do away with all that.

But in the meantime I have to drive it to the shop so I put some sealant in the crack!
