TOMS C7r Split Rim Wheels - much demand?

Post by mk2too »

Hi,

Is there much demand for these wheels? they are in need of a refurb but look structurally sound and have the oe centre caps and some of the sticker remaining.

This is not a for sale post (but if this post is breaking rules then please delete) I just wondered if these are popular/rare wheels or if they are just run of the mill? Although i like them a lot, If they are worth a few bob I might look to shift them on to make way for maintenance work.

TOM'S products do seem to be increasing in value. Like you have mentioned, they need a refurb and even then you need the "right" buyer.

If you have a set of staggered 17's then they can be worth good money in good condition.

16's are still nice but go for less.

I think these are staggered but they are 16's not 17's

I think I'll stick them on eBay and see what interest there is :-)

Thanks for the info chaps!

Are they genuine split rims, or just lookalikes?
Also what is the width/offset?

They are genuine TOMS wheels by the looks of things so would be genuine splits.

Online facts say they are

16x7 front with a 35 offset
16x8 rear with a 38 offset

I'll try and get it on a jack tonight and see if there are some markings etc

They would look proper if you split them up, polished the lips up all shiney and then got the middle powder coated. :thumleft:

Definitely. I'd keep them personally. They don't come up for sale very often and really suit the car.

Those sizes are perfect 16inch sizes as well.

I know they are Toyota wheels but they would look very nice on my recently acquired RX7 FC :)

They are quite rare and I have been collecting them for a few years now.

I have 2 sets of 16's and a pair of 17's from a Supra rear end to make a double staggered set from at some point.

As a quality item goes they are extremely well made and by one of the best wheel manufacturers.

They were a Toyota dealership upgrade in Japan only from what I have read over the years and there were even some magnesium ones made that were super light but by now probably quite brittle.

Definitely keep them.

Have a look at my profile for plenty of pics restored. The lower the car the better they look.....
