It has launch control, weighs 2 tonnes but hits 0-60 in what, 4.7 seconds?

Both cars way outperform many tuned cars and cost nothing in comparison.

The new universal 8 speed boxes are just incredible too.

I know all about the drivetrain, my bro had a 135i N54 and now the M135I with the the N55.

i do not dispute the potential of the engine, i'm talking about the less driver involvement, Drag racing used to be about balancing throttle and clutch and launching correctly. Now the computer does everything for you.

The ZF 8 speed is a lovely thing but straight from the owner of one, he says its boring after a while when compared to the 135i he had before.

Don't get me started on XDrive #-o

 I'm a proud (deliberate) N54 owner with the 6 speed 8)

true, the dragstrip is POINTLESS. But boy do they shift

Jim - most kits will say do not use more than a 50/50 mix - my AEM one does anyway and i think coolingmist etc is too.

Will all help though!

Well done Andrew for getting the manual, we'll miss it when it's gone. The driver it just there for the ride now with most new cars and dragstrip racing.

Jim, my aquamist says not to use more than 50% mix too.

Talk to Richard from aquamist. He is the guru.i think you will need to change some o ring seal or is that E85. Can't remember

When are you going to dyno your car Jim. Any plans for 1/4 mile with the new set up?

not sure what the order of events will be, i need the car mobile at the moment, and im really wanting to fit my Radtec setup and get out there again.

Im going to try and customise my Berk Tech Greddy IC piping to work with the CC.
As the flow of these look so much nicer than the Radtec pipes looking at them side by side.
Little cut here, another hose, should be good.

Once thats on, i may put on some old r888s on some 15s, get to tweaking fueling again and go up there again in the coming months.
I havent the means of carrying spare wheels, so having to go with a road tyre.

Ive had alot of my plate recently with work and home, so cars taken a bit of a back seat.

Bit more of an interesting update.
Finally had some time with the car, I purchased the Radtec chargecooler (CC) Andy had up for sale.
Was in nice condition and very well packed thanks.
Needed a good clean, out with the wet and dry and metal polishes. It's pretty hidden so I didn't bother going to much to town.
Good clean out and soak with petrol on the insides, it needed that for sure.

Fan/shroud and IC shroud 1.5kg

The pipework flow with the kit doesn't look ideal to me, lots of unnecessary bends, so a plan was hatched to tweak my KO racing IC kit which not only looks super nice, polished etc but has been designed with nice flow in mind.
I worked out if I chop the lower section off it it should mate well to the lower CC end tank.
The cold side just needs a couple of inchs or so cut off. I will try the pipework unbeaded for now.

Pre rad, I picked up an AVT. Heard some decent things. Shame it's not packaged very at all, couple of knocks in transit. I've only lined it up for now.

Bumper off. Snapped both side strips and a bolt in the bumper. Also couldn't get the fogs out so destroyed the screws and in turn the fogs a little. Bit annoying.
Lots of drilling and retapping later, and some epoxy, happy it'll all bolt up as good as new.

do i go fogless again?? :-)

Really like the Radtec set-up. I'd have another one for sure, if one came up again.

not rehosted images yet, so cant visually show an update

but finally coming back together after busy weekends and a holidays inbetween.

fixed and replaced all the front bumper tabs, cleaned up, bumper back on, pump in under headlight, is actually very quiet, so impressed there.

for awesomeness i tapped into the empty fuse holder in the frunk box for the A/C to run the pump!

so when i want pump off, i turn the heater to off, and when i want it running, switch the heater switch low+!!! Ha, works great.

bleed the system, 95% dionised water, tiny tiny bit of coolant to avoid any freezing in winter.

still to do

fit td06 exhaust hosuing gasket
make new custom heatshield
bolt modified ic pipes back in

give it some boost!

Been a while for an update due my laziness sorting the photobucket issues, anyways installed the google chrome fix and looks like all my links have returned!

So thought id shower all you lovely people with an update....

First things, finished installing my custom Radtec setup couple of months back, and car is still feeling super strong on the road. Decided i still wanted to run water/meth injection so kept this on there for added safety.
Cranked boost up to around 1.2bar now on the TD06, which is still solid i might add, AFR's still good, have a base fuel pressure of 41psi now, seems a happy number.

Going fogless didnt last for long, i wanted to try and fill the gaps with some new fogs, but happened upon many more options going for DRL's instead. I now have these hooked up to my Foglight live feed.

Cut KO racing pipes, huge flow improvement over the Radtec pipes

Had to order an official Greddy Gasket to fix the slight blow at the downpipe area, best part of £50 from Japan! :-/

Extravagant CC pipe routing outside the undertrays, more exposed, BUT now also receiving some airflow to cool them down, my excuse! ha!

All back together, must have mini shoot

Just move to a different image host Jim - Photobucket could stop those browser addons from working correctly and you'll be back to square one.

Some of the more posher of us uses safari on mac and iphone plus the chrome links wont last long so maybe worth hosting all new photos on a new site.

Right so, i guess i need to get my ar$e into gear with all my images, but uploaded these to imgur at least.

What you see here is a new custom 3.5inch intake, can see ive reused my IC piping for the CC system, a bit more gold and how my pre rad sits.
Still need to relocate my custom expansion tank back into the boot and give it all a clean, but here is the latest setup

(and new DRLs)
