Sure, and as a person a really nice guy and as I've maintained to say - willing to correct any wrong doings. Just so fustrating that important parts were f***ed up. You know, rear main seals, cam timing, cam belts......

Also having a sump stud helicoiled that was snapped whilst being put back together from the oil pump replacement at petes.

It seems that life is challenging me right now Martin!

The dyno day showed that I was still running lean. Great! FPR previously checked and fine, i know the injectors are new, which leads to the fuel pump.

After initial investigation it seems that the brand new (1 year old now [-( ) Toad alarm installed by Mr Toad himself is for some reason drawing current away from the pump. Instead of the 14.4v it's only getting 12.5v

So we're invetigating wheter it's faulty wiring or the alarm unit itself which is causing the drain. Once done, we're back up to teh dyno for tuning again.

I did make 410hp on a dodgy pump

Oil seal now done though, no leaks (yippee!)

Take the fuse out of the alarm live and retest the voltage, if that's the issue find a new live.
I hope you are diy-ing this and not paying someone else :-k

It is such a shame that whole or even part dyno sessions are so expensive, especially when it's something so little each time, been there, feel for you dude.

Better luck next time :thumleft:

Every hour is paid for mate. Electronics are past me. The cash put into this car is shocking! But I want it perfect

Yeah I'm sure it'll be a quick easy one, we're almost there! Mechanically, we've fixed all the round 1 bodges. We've improved ignition, cooling, power, the lot! So now it's just sorting this alarm issue. I'm confident I have the right guy on the case so sure we'll be back on the fast track soon enough :thumleft:

Keep at it Andy, it'll be great to see this one running perfectly!

As said on FB, you've come too far not to see it through. :thumleft:

Fuel pump is a simple fix, run a dedicated supply from the battery through a relay, use the standard fuel pump circuit to close the relay. That way you've got a dedicated 14v supply with no voltage drop. Simple job, should only take a morning.

Yeah that's the quick test to make sure it's the immobiliser. Thing I want to make sure that I retain all security features as per cat 1 status.

you still will, if the immobiliser is on the fuel pump cct then you use the fuel pump cct to latch the relay you will still retain the functionality of it.

Gotcha. There was the possibility that the immobiliser internal relay wasnt disconnecting properly which could cause the semi-drain.

New wiring going in today anyway so matches what you guys suggested :thumleft:

So, some weeks later the results are in!

Finally mapped and sitting pretty at 445hp

For the first time since last March I can actually say my car is running, there's nothing wrong, it works, and most importantly I'M HAPPY!

Full credit goes to Simon @ Predator Performance in Totton, Southampton. A real mechanical wizard who hasn't just corrected all the bodges done from my forged build but also taken the car to the next level to a superb standard. Amazing work.

So, what's next?

Currently I'm sitting on standard inlet manifold and cams and that's the choking point. Si and the dyno operator (also a mapper for the garage) both noted the car is struggling to intake the air fast enough and causing the limit. So looks like cams / IM are next on the menu.

But for now I'm going to make the most of any dry days and finally DRIVE IT

Glad you have finally got the car running with decent power. You still sound like you want more though :?

Did Chris not get 635 odd bhp from a standard inlet and rev 3 head ????

Anyway, Hope you get some dry weather and some enjoyment from the car before the winter kicks in :thumleft:

Ywah not sure to be honest, I guess with a bigger turbo you can brute force your way through.

Always want more in everything in life me mate, gotta have a challenge 8)

Got out today in the dry and it was hilarious how quickly 100 zooms up on you. Hope you've had some good runs this summer in the beast Martin :thumleft:
