For the first time in 15 years I have taken the decision to not take in any further work for the foreseeable future. Our waiting list has now grown to a full year, the longest it has ever been, that is if you booked an engine conversion with us yesterday it would be September 2018 at the earliest before we could do it!

It seems we are a victim of our own success, and the phone never stops ringing with enquiries or people needing help with home builds etc so I haven't taken this decision lightly.

All currently booked in cars will be worked on until completion, but we won't be accepting any further bookings until the current waiting list is back to an acceptable level, quite possibly early 2019.

Thanks Paul.

Blimey, impressive stuff. I assume you've already explored this so I'm asking more out of curiosity really, but do you not have any options for expansion?

Sadly no, the work we do here is so bespoke and custom that hiring anyone that has the same knowledge/skillset and enthusiasm for the Mr2 is just about impossible, a regular mechanic would be no good to us and would need years of training and study to get to the same level both Anth and I are at.

If we could find someone locally who ticked all of these boxes then we could expand, but I just don't see it happening, so I think we will always be a small business with a full order book.

it's better than letting a lot of folks down but still a gutsy decision. Wish you all the continued success [thumleft] [Applause]

Many thanks, yep that was the fear, letting future customers down on timescales/booking dates etc, it's already pretty scary with so much work ahead of us, so something had to be done.

I've noticed one or two other specialists having to do the same thing, so not just us who are inundated with work right now.

Wow! That's great news for you and I'm really really pleased for you! [thumleft]
In that case, maybe I need to think about booking my Mk1 in with you now in preparation for when I finally get bored of the 4AGE! [Laughing]

Congrats on your success paul. I think it's got to the point where the mr2 is such a unique car that very few have the knowledge to do what you do. I don't think anyone in the mr2 community would consider using anyone else!

I wish you all the best with your continued success!
