Akebono or Aisin calipers?

Post by mr2_maverick »

How can you tell which calipers are fitted to your car without taking the brakes apart before changing them? I need to replace the rear disc and pads but need to order the correct parts and the pads are available as either akebono or Aisin. My car is a rev3 NA 3sge. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about the manufacturer, there are only two types of caliper. Rev1 89 to 91 and rev2 and onward which will be 1992 till 1999

The rear caliper should be marked 22V

So difference is in manufacturer not design? I'm not after the actual calipers but I was going to buy brake pads from demontweaks and it listed the brake pads as either for akebono or aisin. Cheers
