Ambient 11.9 degrees, 23 degrees at 1.95 bar, no knock/det at all, so win, win, both for this mod and the chargecooler

Though I can't log what the oem sensor is telling the ecu.

I finally fitted the auber intake temp gauge.

RTD sensor I fit in the side 1/8 port on the inlet manifold by 4th runner.

Ambient temps today 7-9c (confirmed by gauge)
Cruise I was getting 16-18c

On boost max I saw was 25c which dropped to 18-20c after 10-20seconds.

Not tried any pull after pull after pull, as was wet outside.

Parking at the petrol station, only showed 35c when I returned (heatsoak).
Soon came back down fast.

I need to test in warmer weather and more pulls, but I like the setup!

Video showing it working.
Peak number recording, adjustable alarm/led warning.
Fast reacting 3 wire rtd sensor.

Do either of you have fans on the pre-rad? If so how much of a difference do you see during a "heat soak" period?

I don't have fans, I don't get much in the way of heatsoak because the sensor is away from the hot engine however I still need to test it in real world conditions, ie. a hot day and sitting in heavy traffic or doing hard pulls in the same conditions etc.

I pretty much put the car off the road as soon as it was dynoed so only have the dyno session and a little bit of testing before and after as of yet...

Cool, I think i'll stick fans on anyway. Just have them on a switch to begin with.

To bump an old thread. Looking to change mine out. Can these still be had and are they worth the change?

Link to the actual sensor? The one above is the to the gauge. Not really interested in that. Also I believe an adaptor is required?

I've heard it doesn't fit far enough into the intake to be as accurate. No idea how true that is.

Was that the one Jim, It was that long ago I can't remember. I would have to take mine out to look at it, but I'm sure you are right. I drilled a hole in my st205 charge cooler and had a threaded bung welded on. fitted it just before the rubber neck on the throttle body. Works really well.

Well one you linked too says EGT sensor, I thought we was talking about air temp :-)

They look near enough identical just rated for different temps.

Jim,

the linked one has 3 wires. I presume you just connect two of them? Considering switching to this sensor as I'm just about to install the Rev2 forged block with Rev 3 sensors / loom etc...

think it has yes, but please bare in mind this sensor setup does and is designed to hook up to their gauge, so im sure i would have used all 3 wires when hooking up.

The stock sensor.

I'm a bit confused. I thought you originally used a triumph sensor with a machined adaptor. All I'm seeing is EGT probe kits.
