Excellent work Rob
Seeing all the progress must have re-invested your interest in it, rather than just staring at a lump with a car cover over it!

Cheers gents,
@craig, I still struggle for time/motivation but happy to chip away a little at a time.. averaging one day a month at the moment , I'm 99% certain I won't bother with tax/mot/insurance this year as there's not much point but that money can go towards making sure it is 100% ready to go for next spring

Re: TOM'S 96 Rev 3 GTS - BREAK ME UP, BEFORE YOU GO GO
I had a little time to myself on saturday so I hoovered out the inside of my daily driver and decided to swap the seat rails in the MR2
the seat came out no problem and I dropped the seat onto the bride rail, it fit like a glove obviously
then I dropped the rail into the car and bolted it down, popped the seat in, threw the bolts in and sat in it.. legroom gained, yes.. but at the expense of losing a lot of headroom enough that I could brace up in the seat and touch the roof with my head, whereas with the rogue fixed rail I had loads of headroom. I knew having a slider would lose a bit, but that was too much, it seems that my body, seat and rail combo weren't going to work.. it is a big seat and I am 6'2" though.
so out came the bride rail, I drilled the trans tunnel for an eye bolt and spreader plate as previously I had a Schroth clip in adapter fixed to the stud on the trans tunnel which isn't really ideal
and I removed the schroth adapter from the other side and replaced the factory hex bolt with an eye bolt
having the harnesses that couple of inches further away (i.e fixing point closer to the floor) from the seat means the the adjuster buckles no longer come through the belt holes in the seat when the belt is done up which was quite annoying before.
I also managed to get another 20ish mm adjustment (one hole) on the rogue rail when it went back in, its at the very limit of it's rearward travel now but as it's on an angle, pushing the seat back also moves it down so I've gained enough legroom for me to now be 100% happy with the seating position, and still got enough headroom.
it certainly can't go back any further anyway
anybody want a basically brand new bride sliding rail?

What bride rail did you use?
I bought the FG ones which are the lowest sidemount ones they make.

It's a Bride XL rail, part number T049XL, the only one they do which is wide enough for my seat, although it's the same base/slider as most of their other rails (the RO) but with wider side mounts.

Sad to see you go Rob, some of the engineering you've shown on your build has been outstanding.
More importantly, what bike you getting?

Thanks mate, I'll probably still pop in here for a read, I've had a look about and bike forums seem totally dead.
I'm after a 93-98 YZF750R, ideally in the white/pink/blue colour scheme.
