I'm about to install some Camber bolts, and was wondering about how I should torque up the original lower bolt after fitting.
I understand the torque spec of the original bolts is something like 180 ft lbs. I've also seen 255Nm mentioned.
What is the correct torque spec?
How many people have a torque wrench big enough for this job? Can I get away without one, just using a breaker bar and guesswork?

1993 repair manual states 173NM

Most 1/2inch drive torque wrenches should be able to manage that.

Just checked 91 bgb and this states 188 ft-lb, 255 Nm
Realistically an 18" breaker bar done up pretty tight will suffice. I have changed out my shocks a couple of times and reused these bolts and just done them up tight! No probs

I think the 1991 edition is a typo personally. Certainly wouldn't be the only example of an earlier edition BGB getting a torque value wrong / conversion factor wrong.
Re: [Mk2] [NA] Hub to strut nut torque spec
Ok thanks.
So basically, if I apply around 56Kg to the end of an 18" breaker bar, that should do it.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Hub to strut nut torque spec
dunno not got a compressor anymore. all manual
it's "that" much with the big bar and a spanner locking the other side.
