Who let him out?!?!?!

If it's worth anything I had a berk decat and it was perfect. Last year. Tbh I'd just get one and put a ruler on. If not straight send it back

Berk ought to use thick wall mild steel (3 or 4mm) instead of the stainless IMO. A lot less warping and easier to fabricate/no time wasted trying to polish it up. Who really cares about shiny polished stainless when you can't see it? A nice thick-walled steel downpipe isn't going to rust away within 15 years either, and is less susceptible to fatigue or cracking when splashed by puddles etc.

I can see why the Berk is £250 ish though - there's a lot of work there regardless of how many they're making, most of that time spent on the curvy bell end (giggedy)

And with most modern enthusiasts nowadays looking for high quality but not willing to fork out then I guess it makes sense that standards are dropping. I am finding recently though that despite paying top dollar for certain services or parts, it's very rare to actually see the results you'd hope for (like my respray). I am a bit of a perfectionist though

I'm sure I got the my old Berk from the last "good" batch produced when gtschris decided to stop stocking them, something to do with change of factory or ownership so quality I'm assuming changed about then (2013?).
Mines was absolutely perfect for the record

Yeah, 2013 is about in line with what I read on the MR2OC US forum.

Wonder if the Ko Racing one is any better?

Doesn't have a flexi tho....

I have a ko downpipe on my hks td05 and it's a lovely bit of kit.

You are not alone in this thought.

Just went to bolt my berk downpipe up with my KO racing R1 exhaust and typically it doesn't fit properly. Not sure whether it's the Berk which is wrong or the KO exhaust but either way they don't fit well together as it wants to sit hard against the rear crossmember unless I physically push it up putting tension on the berk flexi. Some pics here

How did you get on with this?

I'm looking for a new down pipe as I have a cheapy, which despite modifying still seems to be catching the wastegate, also fitment (access to all bolts) is a PITA.

It allows for full wastegate movement, seems to sit really nicely.

The bracket took a bit of effort to get to fit, but that was because it it sits between the oil return bracket and the block, which I had already fitted. Would have been easier to fit the oil return after I think.

Gonna be that guy who bought an 'ebay' downpipe in my MR2 infancy and have had no problems for the past 2 years with it.

Took it off last week whilst I was doing some other bits and its still holding up fine no cracks and went back on :thumleft:

Maybe I just got lucky.
