[Mk2] [Turbo] Cam cover washers/ bolts

Post by GTMatt »

Looking for some info, has anybody used this bolt and washer set from mr2ben? Having my cover resprayed so looking to replace them.
https://mr2-ben.co.uk/products/660

Also on the subject, would people advise me to change the seals/ gaskets for the cam cover even if they were only replaced about 2000-3000 miles ago when the engine was rebuilt?

Cheers

cant comment on the bolts other than no reason for them not to be ok, its the washers that are the most important thing to replace.

The valve cover seals should be ok just make sure they are clean and grease free. Then make sure you use some rtv sealant in the cam cap corners a la the pic below

Thanks for the replies. I'll order that set then, clean up the mating face of existing sealant and install as per the maintenance manual.

You can buy bolts and rubber backed washers on ebay for less than half that price you realise? Just saying...

Got a link Ashley?

I can't see anything other than just rubber washers.

For example:

Sure with a bit of hunting you can find smaller pack sizes, and correct washer sizes....or even just buy rubber washers and use them under steel washers...
