Turbo engine mounts

Post by pbmr2 »

Hey All,

Just in the middle of doing an engine swap and discovered that the front and rear engine mounts are dead. Gave TCB a call and they are having to phone around to see what's available.

Where do you guys get engine mounts from? Or is this a case of Mr T only?

Not interested in poly bushes due to vibration in the cabin.

Thanks.

If you see an MR2 with a raised engine cover, the bottom line is it's probably faster than your car.

Thanks guys,

No not tried anyone else yet, TCB were going to call me back today but they must have had a hard time finding the parts as the phone didn't ring.

Might have to pay the Mr T prices at this rate, shame the lead time is so long as that will hold up getting it back on the road. Best give the parts department a call tomorrow.

Will try mr2ben also, only poly ones listed on the site.

Think the NA ones are different as they use different boxes. the rear one looks similar, the front is much weaker on the NA car with not as much rubber as the turbo version.

You may have to chase tcb for a while as paul has been off and probably catching up. I phoned and spoke to him yesterday morning and got straight through though he wasnt answering emails a few days ago as he was off. I only knew as caught him on fb.

got a pair (front and rear) of used turbo engine mounts for £20 each. Got some new wheel bearings too so the bill was more than that.

Ordered about lunch time yesterday and the door bell woke me this morning with the box of bits :D
