Feels like a lifetime I've not driven her for
Decided to wash and quick polish then wrap a cover over it for the remainder of winter

Why....
I have a perfectly good project in the works and you have to get rid of your white one to buy a red one.... like mine but better.....then do the same mods.... with better mods....

Re: FULLY FORGED - New pics of the car (page36) + 1/4 mile times
Finally decided to do something on the 2, try and get early prep done so it's ready to come out around April/May.
Removed the leftovers of the screamer pipe so I can get it fixed in January and back on asap
Downpipe also removed in order to get a lambda sensor ordered, downpipe drilled and sensor installed

Re: FULLY FORGED - New pics of the car (page36) + 1/4 mile times
Got my screamer pipe back, absolutely cracking job they have done on it:
Also got a bung welded onto my downpipe for a wideband to get fitted soon:
Will hopefully have more often updates as the good weather approaches in next couple of months or so

Screamer pipe wrapped and fitted, downpipe almost fitted and snapped the v-band clamp bolt tightening it too much

Re: FULLY FORGED - New pics of the car (page36) + 1/4 mile times
After over 2months of not starting the car up, got the screamer pipe and downpipe refitted as above, tried starting it up and wouldn't start
Removed the spark plugs to find I had flooded them, fitted new ones and those didn't work either, tried a different battery which didn't work so now to check for spark.
Removed a couple of spark plugs and pit the lead on and earthed them, didn't get any spark, checked and tried different ignition leads and still didn't work, took the distributor cap off and it looks almost brand new inside.
Then removed the coil which was my first suspicion, it had a nice spilt down the side of it which is not uncommon, changed it for another coilpack I had and still didn't work. Decided to try the other battery again and bam, it started up so a goosed coil pack and a battery on its way out
This is the coil pack which is normally caused by moisture in engine bay after being wet.. The car doesn't go out in the wet however, before I took it into its storage in September I washed it and I dried it. Obviously the engine bay doesn't dry as easy unless the car is heated and driven which I hadn't done so that is my theory of how the coilpack became crap.

It's strange that they always crack. Well done for fixing it up though!

It was the first thing I thought of tbh, but better off doing a process of elimination
When you going to see this one?

Soon I hope fella, been too long. I don't think I'll be back in Scotland until mid-late April though. Manic atm.
When I'm back up I'll 100% be through to Glasgow though and we can get a pizza or something, chat cars and xxxx
Corvette is SORN'ed atm as well, xxxx sh1te like! Can't really afford to be paying tax etc. for it whilst it's wrapped up. I'll just have to re-MOT and tax it come April.
Re: FULLY FORGED - New pics of the car (page36) + 1/4 mile times
That's the best way, at least you will appreciate it more when you do actually use it.. plus save your pennies. I'll have mines out some point in may, probably mid may so yeah we can make a day of it

Re: FULLY FORGED - New pics of the car (page36) + 1/4 mile times
I'm sure some of you already know but I recently bought another mr2
Bought it mainly for a lot of parts on it (mainly body and interior) to lighten my red mr2 and I've been contemplating long and hard about a kit too and this kit seems o tick a lot of boxes.
Selling as much of the spares as possible and the plan is to return it to stock body/interior and take off some of the aftermarket parts off it then make it a track car if I can negotiate more space with he landlord.

Re: FULLY FORGED - New pics of the car (page36) + 1/4 mile times
Started removing parts of the body, started with the Bomex type 2 wing mirrors. The paint across the car is not the best, basically it has bubbled everywhere, not that it matters as I'm stripping it back to bare..
nightmare of a job all by hand
Probably went a bit too far but had to strip as much crap in order to get rid of whatever has made the paint react in the past.

Haha thanks, I know a set of ganadors for sale if you're into them?

ganadors aren't my thing tbh. East bear would be number one choice, followed by bomex type 2 and sard. Although the chances of finding genuine easy bears are slim these days

Decided to start sanding back the wings, the passenger one was badly bubbled as pictures show what it looks like after a light sand, hopefully get these fully sanded by end of week with a bit of time..

Re: FULLY FORGED - New pics of the car (page36) + 1/4 mile times
Where are the bubbles from ? Is it rust or a paint reaction?
