[Mk2] [Generic] Springs

Post by blogsy »

I'm looking at having some front springs made for my car. I've took a lot of weight out the car, especially at the front. Im going to have the company in this link make me a softer spring. The car tends to bounce a bit at the front with this weight loss, so I'm thinking a softer spring will help with this?. Can anyone tell me if all the mk2 front spring rates are the same or do the differ from turbo to n/a.

Also looking at custom springs for my setup for the same reasons.
What shocks are you running?

It's not just picking a softer setting, you need to work it out. This is a good start.

I've got standard rev3 turbo suspension all round. I know it's not very scientific but I was just going to order a 110lb spring rather than the standard 130lb spring. I don't think they cost that much. You could have a couple of goes at it till it feels right. I'll give them a ring and explain things and see what they say.

Turns out that these guys are the only ones with a mandrel big enough to make the front springs. I'm going to send them a set of springs so they can see what I've got and then have them make me a set to my specs. www.coilsprings.co.uk
