[Mk2] [Turbo] fuel pump = Supra TT pump or something else?

Mine came with the neoprene sleeve and it's really quite.
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fuel pump = Supra TT pump or something else?
Yes but trying to "eek a bit more power" - the fuel pump will not be stressed at 300hp. Nowhere near.
I've not heard of a walbro failure yet.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fuel pump = Supra TT pump or something else?
failures usually happen on most pumps if running less than 1/4 a tank all the time.
looking on the forums, seems the failure rate is nearly the same.
im sure the supra is more reliable really, but at 3-4 times the cost over a walbro, seems OTT for my spec.
if the walbro last 5-10years, and supra 10-20, not too bothered really.
all i want is a healthy 60-65psi flow rate max, which the walbro will do.

Interesting psi there Jim, i thought stock was 43psi.. or am i confusing myself?
Reason I ask is i may want to try a FPR to squeeze a bit more cc out my 800's

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fuel pump = Supra TT pump or something else?
stock base is like 35-38psi
but with boost, you add a psi per psi of boost, thats how the stock system works.
so youd need a 1:1 FPR.
i run 43psi base, and with 15-20psi of boost, there you go, makes near 60

Gotcha. Thanks!
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fuel pump = Supra TT pump or something else?
had it apart the weekend and can confirm there was a stock turbo pump in there (denso 195130-0701, believe NA pump ends 080X), and it may just be my imagination, now ive swapped in the walbro, pressure is staying in the system for longer once switched off. which is a good sign i heard.
(car isnt running yet, just testing pump and pressure).
GOD I HATE A PUMP SWAP ON STANDS AND ON YOUR OWN!
pump and sock looked very clean, so was the fuel.
i still plan on uprating the pump wiring though, and use the pump feed as a switch for a separate relay just to rule it out.
my FP wire on the diag port has never worked (to get pump going with paperclip), can confirm it doesnt have continuity with the pump, shocker! so bridged B+ to the circuit opening relay wire..... easier than chucking a battery in the cabin at the fuel pump plug!
Fuel pump 12v feed from circuit opening relay
FPR pin on Ecu switches between high and low voltage via resistor pack
Where it then routes off to the diag port

Good work Jim! Fuel tank is a PITA without a lift.
Not surprised it's all looking clean in there - dirty fuel / deteriorating tanks / 'crap in the tank' is truly a thing of the past.

i only mention it as i was kinda hoping to see an "old" pump, but it looked almost brand new, ha.

Yeah I know what you mean, the fuel will keep it looking relatively clean though!

Well done for getting the pump swapped so quick!!! Im still slaving away at my turbo swap and cc install lol
Though my excuse is ive had an infection in my finger that affected my whole hand.
