Best place to sell?

Post by jon_st205 »

Best place to sell a mk1 SE currently? I'm loathed to sign up and pay a fair amount to the likes of the mk1 club, just to sell a car. However I don't want all the great unwashed from fleabay sending me idiotic messages.

Advice welcomed.

Cheers,
Jon

You'll need to become a premium member to sell on here. £7.50.

are you seriously saying you won't pay a few quid to advertise your car on a MR2 specific forum?
That makes no sense to me, none at all.
What does ebay charge in fees these days? What does PistonHeads & Autotrader charge for an advert?
Jeez, pay your money and get your target audience

Although I wouldn't of put it in quite the same words he does have a point, to list a car on Fleecebay it's £10 plus then there's a 1% final fee on an auction, or it's £14.50 fpr a classified plus 1% on the final fee. So £2K car is going to cost you over £30 either way. Autotrader is minimum £36.95, no idea pissupheads. So really £10 for mr2mk1 (although I personally don't post there due to a certain member) & £7.50 for here doesn't see that bad.

And those options are going to be fairly short term!
Or for under £30 you could advertise on 3 MR2 specific sites (MK1Club, MR2OC and IMOC) for a year.
No brainer IMO

I think most real buyers buy off owners club classifieds anyway. Given I am now in the grips of motorbike purchase hunt, it's so obvious that owners club adverts contain better vehicles, better VALUE vehicles, and generally sellers who are more interested in actually agreeing a sale.

IMO, advertise through owners clubs.
