So i took the battery of trickle charge and fitted it today to start he car nd get some fluids moving and any moisture dried off. I already have over 12 moisture absorbers in the interior btw.

Fitted battery and it starts up first time, let it idle and get up to running temp.

However, temp gauge rises significantly and no hot air through interior, blowing freezing cold.

Some steam from the engine bay and all in all looking a bit pish.

No damp inside the car on carpets or surrounding area so dont think it's a heating matrix issue.

I have this horrible feeling its popped some block core plugs .

Switched it off and licked my wounds.

Perhaps just as well it's getting a 3.5 v6 from woodsport next year.

Sounds like low coolant level / air block to me.

There's very little chance it's popped a core plug out. I assume it had antifreeze in it? Chances are the thermostat is stuck closed. Remove thermostat housing, remove thermostat. Put it all back together and see how you get on. If it works fine (albeit taking longer to get up to temp) then replace thermostat

It had a band new thermostat and water temp sender last year, but tbh the temp gauge never really settled. Always fluctuating between quarter and half.

New water pump assembly fitted 5k ago also.

Bleeding these cars seems to be a bit of a nightmare?

Could very well be an airlock then, Bleed, bleed and bleed again.
