Having just transplanted the engine from my MK1 because I thought my old one was terminal, it turns out it wasn't as bad as initially thought.
So...I have for sale, an engine from my MK1b.
Basically, it lost compression in cylinders 3 and 4 due to a small coolant jet in the head being blocked and causing the head gasket between 3 and 4 to fail.
All it needs is for someone mechanically minded to pressure wash the block clearing the jet, put a new head gasket on there and you're good to go.
As an aside, there's a slight pit in the blocked on the outer edge of cylinder 4 but that doesn't seem to affect it. You could possibly consider a block skim though.
The head was skimmed only a couple of years ago when I got the head gasket done so you probably won't need to do that again.
Offers please!
Pics on request.
Cheers!
James

How much do you want for the bare block? I do not need the internals
