[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev2 to Rev3 engine swap

Hi all, so I'd appreciate some help if possible.

The bottom end's gone on my Rev 2 Turbo so I have bought a Rev 3 lump complete with CT20B to go in it together with a Rev 3 Turbo ECU.

So I know I need a R3T map sensor and wiring loom (although someone's told me that the R2T loom can be altered?), will the gear box definitely need changing also?

The standard R2T brakes should be ok although they were upgraded on the R3.

Have I missed anything else?

Loom can be altered and passenger side loom will need repinning.
Connector on the REV3 ignitor is different to REV2 but that easy to get around

REV2 Gear Box will bolt straight on

REV2+ brakes are all the same so i don't know where you got the REV3's were upgraded

Thanks very much, I was told that the Rev3 brakes had larger discs and more powerful calipers?

Rev1 had the smaller brakes. The rev2+ are all the same whether they are from an n/a or turbo

As far as I knew you'd need a rev3 ignitor to go with the rev3 ecu. Unless that is only because the pin outs are different?

yes you need a rev3 ignitor as well.

REV2+ brakes are all the same so i don't know where you got the REV3's were upgraded

It's slightly different in the US, so OP may have seen this on one of the FB groups.
