Well... I was expecting to be finished,

however my ep3 decided it wanted a new timing chain, so build resumes middle of next week, got some slick wheels last week, also adding carbon bonnet and pop light delete to the list of things.

The camera will be coming out soon. running in completed, all the body kit parts have been fitted. Just waiting for the engine work to be completed (needs mapping, may need to wait a couple of weeks for a solt) arches rolled then its off for a fresh coat of SMG.

Hoping she will be finished for spring.

dropped the ball on some parts ordering a couple of weeks ago only just come to light :<

me been a noob, my racer X fuel rail is ....... top feed & the injectors I have are side feed. Top feeds on route just not going to get them till Wednesday next week.

so at the moment ive got 3 sets of injectors 440cc 540cc & 850cc 2 fuel rails for a gen2 ones been bored out for the 850's all surplus to requirements.

Good news:-

rebuild on the engine seems good, Head bolts have not moved, no sign of oil/coolant leaks anywhere.

Stock gen2 inlet manifold has now been removed, Hello racer X Centre feed. Spent most of the afternoon working out what goes where on the throttle body conversion got that all sorted. cant wait to find out the throttle cable does not fit.

also noticed I've forgotten to order some AN6 Fuel lines. depends on when my parts turn up could have it running again in the next couple of weeks.

New CB bonnet getting sprayed SMG

Image

Old inlet manifold

Image

New racer X, also new throttle body and new intercooling hosing.

Image

New racer X inlet

Im having a nightmare with this racer X top feed rail, the holes seem smaller than what they should be or the injectors are bigger than there ment to be, im just trying to work out which one.

Taking out the old alarm and imb, its been shafted since id purchase of the car. replaced all silicone hoses on the inter cooler. (on the intake, they were fine just wanted blue ones. Deleted the charcoal canister. rerouting the engine loom due to inlet manifold, also running new fuel lines.

Couple of air lines need replacing also just waiting for them to turn up.

Test fit on the new wheels tomorrow, time to get the arch roller out and some spacers I think.

Quick updated, Its been pretty boring stuff so I'll upload some before and after photo's

**Interior has was fully removed**

Dashboard removed, all wiring addressed, (converted back to stock and correct wire colours used (from a donor loom)

Central Locking fixed finally (turns out it was the aftermarket alarm controller)

Centre console converted to take 3 52mm defi gauges (water temp, oil temp, oil pressure)

Relocated boost controller, also relocated the boost controller ECU box

aem wideband removed replaced for Innovate one

All trim plastics replaced for very clean ones

another set of clocks due to rev gauge/speedo failure (leaking caps)

Omri Boost gauge added to cluster

Leather door cards

aftermarket fog lights removed, replaced for factory, Also need to finish off the wiring loom for this since this was butchered for the other lights :/

new seat rails/frames for the corba seats (came with old homebrew job was making them sit a little high)

engine bay loom tuck

Pop lights deleted replaced with twin fixed lamps.

all Carpets replaced

Run brand new speaker cables, removed the factory ones (also the common mods for getting larger speakers in the standard mounts)

Also some wheel spacers for the new rims (front 8mm)

Hoping by the end of next week should be ready to try and fire it back up. however need to get these things sorted first.

Probs loads more things ive done, just felt like the last month has been chasing crazy DIY wiring around the car.

new ECU needs pinning into the loom
need to connect the braided fuel line
walbro pump needs installing
finish off the VAC lines now the cab's sorted.

needs its MOT renewing, wow that was a fast 12 months car only saw 600 miles on the road this year :<

here some more updated photo's just looks a little more of the same but such is wiring. still needs the fuel tank dropping to change the pump. Pretty much had a full rewire from nose to tail.

Image

almost ready for more fuel

Image

Deleted the centre console vents for gauges

Image

Wires wires wires

Image

Needs more Vac line!!!!!

Image

Loom tuck, It hides away very well. Its out of place at the moment.

Image

Had the bad wrap removed of the center pannel, had it smoothed and repainted

Image

Nothing screwed down in this picture, its just placed to get an idea of the look. I think this looks pretty good, but ive been looking on the webs seen the FTO headlight conversion.

Image

Managed to get hold of these, Should be here on Tuesday

Also the gen3 loom has been back pinned to gen2 now should work with the adaptronics ecu. also gave some worn bits and bobs a new lick of paint. Also replaced the cancer bars, forgot to take a picture of this #-o ill get one next time its in the air.

Tanks out, walbro installed tanks back in, fuel lines sorted.

Image

tanks out

Image

Pump installed ready to go back in.

Image

Ill get some more pictures of the fuel lines after lunch time.

I was hoping to have a video online today, but ran into an issue where I need to use the self learn on the ECU but my wide band needs a cable to connect it ](*,)

Cable should be here Monday next week. Once its running. confirmed the wiring is good, All the gauges and extra sensors can be added to the loom. then its time to start on the headlights.
