Electrical Buzzing Sound

Post by SuperRedMR2 »

This has been a problem for a while now.

I have an electrical buzzing sound coming from the right hand side of the engine bay. I've replaced the battery, alternator and the wiring loom in the last year.

Both the battery and alternator were brand new.

It doesn't seem to increase in RPM but it does go away after a while. When it goes away the engine bay cooling fan light comes on, on the dashboard.

Has anyone had any issues like this before?

Hi Pete,

Yes the fan works fine.

I've tested the battery voltage with engine off and on and its 14.5 charging and 12.9 normal.

However if I remove the round plug on the alternator the noise goes away...

But if it's charging fine what could be wrong with it?
