Might be an idea to dump the 5S oil cooler and use a remote oil filter set up- will help your oil temps on track, and makes it far easier to add an oil cooler at a later date should you need to :thumleft:

Update...

Ordered parts from ATS Racing a while back and received them the last time I was home.

Wiseco 87.5mm pistons with upgraded wrist-pin
Pauter rods
Moroso oil sump
All bottom end bearings

I have all parts for the bottom end to be built, however, I am going to wait until I have all the parts for the rest of the engine and have it built in the one go.
This will save me time and money going up and down the country a few times to drop bits off / pick bits up from Peter.

The next lot of parts I'm ordering will be for the head, and then it's all going to CNC Heads to be worked and built.
ATS Racing will be sending a quote through today with all the head parts, including their straight runner inlet manifold and 75mm TB.

I've been on the fence with converting to COP, but since it's not expensive to convert, I'm going to do it for peace of mind when running high boost.
Will order the whole kit from Jeff @ Racer X.

I'm due home from Africa next weekend, so hoping to get some time with the car during my 4 weeks off as I have a mountain of things to do.

I've also bought a new road car...

Did you decide which cams to go for yet then?

If it's not too late- don't buy the COP set from Jeff, I can help you put together a better solution for less cash...I'm back from holiday this weekend and will drop you a note with the details :thumleft:

No. I'm still awaiting a reply from the elusive Mr. Gidden regarding the head.
Several texts, phone calls and PM's but no reply.
You know if he's on holiday or something?

Cool man. Email me when you can!

You don't need cams trust me... For maximum drivability given the application you want your car for stick with stock :thumleft:

If he was on a smaller turbo I would agree (although cams would still help)- but the GTX35 is a monster, he's gonna need all the flow to the right hand side he can get...will stock cams give him that?

All the cams made for 4 valve heads are very mild and by getting more air into the cylinders with higher valve lift you can run a lower boost for the same power also higher revs will give more power.

Progress on this is fairly slow at the moment. Still collecting parts.
Will definitely be out next year.

Thanks.

I'm hoping to order the following this month;

HKS adjustable cam gears
HKS fine tune timing belt
ARP main studs
AEM 3.5 bar map sensor
Quaife ATB LSD
Aeromotive FPR
Aeromotive fuel filter
Fuel pump - model TBC

That just leaves;

Fuel swirl pot
Motec ECU
Digital dash
All sensors
Fluids

The rest of the stuff will be supplied by Peter when it goes to get built later in the year.

I'm getting closer...

Also bought a Takata harness on Thursday.
