Black JDM 1992 Rev2 G-Limited N/A T-bar

Post by Pauln »

The time has come to put my black J reg na G-Limited T-bar up for sale, now my turbo is back on the road, as I really can't justify trying to run two cars.

Imported in 2004 with 60,000km on the clock (Bimta cert available) and owned by me since 2006
Lockwood dials fitted but odometer still reads in kilometres.
Odometer currently shows 117,823 Km (about 73,212 miles)

8 years service history to backup current mileage

Rev3 quad rear light conversion, with inner pair doubling as brake and rear fogs.
Turbo Engine lid

Apexi air filter, custom metal induction pipe and oil catch can
Magnex Stainless steel exhaust
Rev5 alloy wheels

Cusco front brace
Momo millenium steering wheel

Folding mirrors
Steering front fogs
Cruise control
Active 8 speaker system with Kenwood CD/MD/radio
Vibe door speakers, tweeters and crossovers
Pioneer rear speakers
original subs with crossover fitted between subs and rear speakers which cleans the sound up quite a bit over stock install

Toad AI 606 alarm
Working climate controlled aircon

Full service and MOT October 2014

Cam belt changed at 82,000km
Clutch changed at 105,619km
New hand brake cable at 102,175km

4 new Toyo proxies fitted December 2014

Engine excellent, pulls well
Gearbox fine, but syncro is a bit weak on second gear
Bodywork good for year, and polishes up well from a distance. But close up the paintwork would benefit from a bit of tlc in places
Underneath pretty clean for year
Interior tidy for year with original seats and Alacantra door cards

I was at one time thinking of keeping this as a track car so have fitted driver and passenger harness points to engine firewall, but changed my mind as I really can't afford to run the na and the turbo.

The car recently developed an ignition fault and started cutting out at traffic lights. In an effort to fix this, I fitted a new coil and new plug leads, and then replaced the igniter and distributor body. But in the end it turned out to be a faulty ECU that was the problem, so this too has now been replaced. She now idles solidly at around 800 rpm, and I've had no further trouble.

£695 ono

Hi, not been on here in years after I sold my old rev 2 but I can't get rid of the niggling feeling I need another one!

Is this still for sale? and would you be interested in p/x / swap for a boring A4 Avant TDI?

Cheers,
Tom

Yes it's still for sale, but I'm afraid I'm not really looking for a part exchange as I can't really justify keeping two cars on the road.

To be honest, if I could, I'd probably just hang on to the n/a as a second car :D

Fair enough, I'll look into offloading mine and see if yours is still for sale then - I've already got two cars so can't quite justify a third!

Do you have any pictures of the underside? Particularly sills and the usual rust traps?

Not the best weather for photos at the moment, but here are a few I've just taken of the sills

But I'm afraid I don't have access to a pit or ramps etc, so trying to get a meaningful photo of the underneath in nigh on impossible. I can't get far enough away or really judge what the camera is pointing at. I did try to get one of the underneath near the offside rear sill, but it wasn't a great success as you can see :(

The body work isn't perfect, it's 23 years old. But equally it's no rust bucket, and I think it's generally in pretty good condition for it's age and well worth a look.

That looks pretty good to me!

If i weren't other side of country i'd be considering buying this instead of fixing my current '2'!
