[Mk2] [Generic] Midlands car audio installation?

Post by Adam86 »

I installed everything myself but I need the gains set on the two amps.

I don't want it done by ear so does anyone know of a trustworthy company with the correct equipment for settings amp gains? And who will then blend my speakers and subs to sound correct?

Thanks for any suggestions. Anywhere within the Midlands will do but im based in Birmingham.

You can do it yourself using a CD with a set hz tone on it and a volt meter, there are loads of guides online

Doing it with a multimeter is not a good way to do it, the max gain without clip needs identifying with an oscilloscope on both the amps and headunit. The blending part is generally a personal thing and involves deciding on what cutoff frequencies you prefer then adjusting the sub gain down till in merges in a way that sounds right to you.

your welcome to borrow my scope if you want to have a go
