trackday speculation...mr2 na vs z4 2.5

Whats likely to be faster round a track a lighly modded rev3 na or a standard z4 2.5l?

Id have thought the mr2 would out handle it...

It depends on a lot of factors really. Both standard on original suspension?
They would be a good match i'd of though.

I drove the hardtop coupe z4 3.0si when I was looking for an MR2 replacement. It is definitely faster but even compared to it, I'd sooner be in an MR2 on track. Way too numb for track. Cool car, but so docile.

Yea both pretty stock but the mr2 has an induction kit and mongoose exhaust with decat...

grab the MR2 by the scruff of the neck and hooooon it round the track! you will be surprised what you can beat!!

I was the OP of this thread. Having now done a couple of trackdays i can confirm how suprised i was with the mr2 in standard form. Mines got exhaust and filter, elise seats and a pair of harnesses.

Caterhams are untouchable and follow lines only a caterham can...

But, i was comfortably getting past impreza turbos, an s2000 and even an m3. Admitadly its 99% to do with the driver. Stick to good lines and wait for people to make mistakes!... i loved it! Really hooked!

Sadly i didnt, my mate 2.0 z4 isnt ready. The only z4 i has a play with was a z4m with 4 exhaust... and beat me in the straights
