a little hesitant

Post by pistol pete »

Hi ya

Got the mk3 out on road for first time today love it
But it feels very hesitant sometimes it takes off really well others it seems to cough a bit rather than go
It's got new Toyota spark plugs (not gapped them as thought the came pre gapped)
It's got new oil filter and new o2 sensor after the cat

When first got it last week had eml (o2) which has been done
No other faults and drives well
Anything else I need to look for? Or just needs a run?
It has sat since October so could just need a good run
Just put superunleaded and petrol treatment in too
Thanks

Code read and it's an O2 sensor
So went got 2 new denso ones put both on so I'll have change all 3

And sc motor factors do genuine denso ones for 45£!!!!

I got one long and one short as that's what they had in stock but look exactly the same except cable length

Short leads are pre-cat, long one is post-cat.

Do stuff in this order:
Run a can of 10K Boost through the engine.
Disconnect battery for 30 mins, remove MAF and clean with carb cleaner, then re-connect battery.
Go for a hard, fast blat.

That should clear up the obvious. I had similar issues with mine as it hadn't been run in a while, and the ECU reset along with doing the O2 sensor has sorted it right out.
