SC TIMING BELT PART NUMBER?

Post by RichardMorgan »

Hi, your site is a great place for information on such a rare car!
I own a MK1 MR2 SC'd and its great fun to drive and I love it!
My problem is I need a new timing belt and Toyota sold me the wrong belt and said they can swap it for another if I know what part number it is.
I phoned Fensport who knew the part number but would not tell me as I was not buying it from him. That’s fair enough.
Would you happen to know the part number for the timing belt that runs on the SC'd MR2?

Its the same belt as on the NA.

Seriously, i find it incredible that you are having trouble obtaining this from toyota. It should simply be a matter of walking in and asking for a timing belt for a 4AGE engine.

As above - the timing belt is the same as the 4A-GE. The belts which may differ from the NA is the alternator belt ( 5PK1030 if its got aircon, 5PK835 if not ) and the waterpump/SC drivebelt ( not sure what the standard one is, mine's a 5PK975 belt with a Fensport pulley kit fitted ).
