mondeo droplinks fit?

Post by welly_59 »

i've got a noisy droplink on my front and i've heard that the 95-99 ford contour droplinks fit. After a bit of research i've found that the ford contour was sold as a ford mondeo over hear.

here's the post i've seen with the droplink information:

anyone here able to verify this?

The ends may match but you'll probably have to shorten them by cutting and welding back together.
Ebay ones are cheap.
Or Twosrus uk.

All the ford ones I have seen have the threaded bit on the same side, whereas the mk1 has the threaded part at 180 degress to each other.
So it will most likely end up having to be shortened and twisted.

Vauxhall Senator ones are close, I have them fitted to the front of mine, however you have to enlarge the hole in the strut and the role bar because the senator ones have a larger ball joint on them, the trade off is a stronger part.

as far as i know the ford fiesta/escort mk 5 are the nearest.you have to cut and shorten ,(rotate as needed)to fit.

Vauxhall Carlton are the closest ones I've found that fit the front, the only modification required is to drill the antiroll bar and strut holes out to 12mm. Pattern parts are nice and cheap for the Carlton.

I don't understand what you mean... I replaced my front droplinks on friday where the original items and the replacements had the thread on both sides (facing the same way)...???
