SPEEDO PROBLEM

Post by RichardMorgan »

Quick question for you if I may, I took off the dash board to clean behind the plastic dash cover and now the speedometer dial will not rest on zero it falls to the bottom I'm sure it wasn't like that before, I have tried to move it round by hand but it still falls back below zero, the speedometer still works fine have you any ideas?
Many thanks

Dial or needle?

If the needle drops too far down, it's probably because there is a small plastic stopper that the needle rests on at zero. It's possible this has fallen off....

Yeah - I think you might be right (had a good squint at mine on the way home)....

Most other cars have a stopper though - maybe the Toyota designers were cunning and hid it somewhere... :-k
