had a very intermittent revving problem which has now manifested into
something not good at all
the car starts and idles Ok, but as soon as i press the go pedal nothing
happens after 1500 rpm apart from a funny smell.
It sounds as though it's missing, but as I said, it ticks over with no
problem.
It seems as though something is blocked, but I've no idea where to start.
Thoughts or suggestions please

Re: Mk2 NA revving problem
Good place to start is to interogate the ECU for any stored fault codes.
short E1 to TE1 in diagnostic connector and turn on but do not start car
Check number flashes of the ECU icon on left side of indtrument cluster.
This will falsh with fault code eg:
3 flashes pause 4 flashes = 34

Chris
