I like the R32. My mate has a decent spec MK5 with the DSG box. Sure, it's not hugely fast in a straight line but it's very responsive and the gear box is superb. It's a nice place to be too. Very comfy and all the toys you could need with the added bonus of back seats.

My mate fell foul the usual behavior of the R32 drivers when he first got the car - He used to floor it everywhere, always driving it hard. At that point I thought he'd made a mistake buying it as, at the time, my Tubby was quicker.

Now, three years on, he drives it properly, using it to cruise at a sensible pace, which makes the car very smooth indeed and it still feels responsive when needed.

When he first got it, I wasn't convinced. Now though, I'd have one in a flash. :thumleft:

Buy a "Golf" if you don't like to stand out from the crowd...

Lol. :D

It's the only "Golf" I'd consider.

I've done enough standing out from the crowd over the years. Sometimes it's nice to hide!
