What was in that Starlet?

Post by andyg1978 »

I was going back home along the A702 on Sunday back and as usual there got stuck behind the usual collection of caravans, lorries and tractors.
Strangest thing though, a battered looking Starlet was behind me at one point and when I went to overtake a caravan, this thing was glued to me.
After the second overtake I did, and I was using some of the power of my car to make sure I overtook safely, this thing shot past me at some pace.
Dont know what he had under the bonnet but it was swift as!

Incidentely, this weekend was the first time I have properly used my tubby since I got it last September - I'd forgotten how nice these cars are to drive when you got them out of the city centre.

Galanza!

Post by sw20 »

A Freind of mine has a 98 Plate Galanza with a fully forged engine build and uprated turbo conversion, Fully stripped out only weighs about 700Kgs approx and is pushing out around 220 HP at the wheels. Great fun car and suprises most people.

If you check our the Starlet forums some people are running the standard Subaru impreza turbos and seeing a tad over 300 HP with the right mods! now thats a rocket!
