[Mk2] [Generic] 4"x6" headlights - do they exist ???

Post by Spidey »

I've been trying to find a set of e-marked 4"x6" headlights -and only one I found so far that I think have them is the Ford Probe.

If anyone else knows what uses them, let me know

There are loads in the US but are, of couse, DOT approved.

P.S. am hoping to try build low-rise lights. I know Rogue do the quad but are way too pricey. And I think I'd like to stick with one rectangular lamp.

TIA

Do you have any links ? I tried the Hella UK site and in the universal section, I only found some which were nearer 4" x 7".

Out of interest, what is the stock size?

You might have better luck looking towards jap cars. Nissan 200sx etc.

I also wondered if these type of lights existed to have a stock looking low rise kit, maybe with HID lighting

The 550-ones I think

I thought I saw some MR2's using these (or I'm totally wrong here #-o ), to make the headlights like half-rise.

Sorry but these are only main beam driving lamps, not main/dip beam headlights.

Ta mate - but I think they will fail a MOT because they are from the US and only DOT appoved.

I need something E-marked - so, probhas to be from UK or Japan.

Ah, okay - see what you mean - shouldn't be too hard to find a set of UK GTO headlights. Or from Japan.

I doubt they'd fail. I don't think testers will be looked for CE markings? So long as they look sensible and work correctly when hooked up to their tester, i doubt they look any closer.

GTO headlights are perfect for the job ,Ive just got to work out how to alter the angle of the lights when they lift ,because they dont rise as far, the light is pointing down slightly

How did you get them to rsie only that much? They look pretty cool

Much neater and they make the stock ones look ridiculously big.

Hi,

Can't view those pictures.

Do you have a price and any more details of how you make the light stay low? They look good, but it looks like the normal surround is missing?

Maybe there is an opportunity to start a group buy on here. I would be interested in a set at the right price. Before I get pounced on, if we could get a few more details in this thread first and then link to a group buy thread iof its a goer?

You get a new surround for these lights, I got the preview version to test them last year, because a good friend of mine produces them, and they are working perfect!
It is a complete kit with all you need including introduction to fit them.

Now it looks like this

The price in the German groupbuy is 170Euro without shipping, so about 150British Pounds.
He produces 4 kits per week and at the moment there are 70 people on the list, so it takes some time to produce their kits.
