bloody t bar leaking again so this is how i fixed it
i have been waiting for some heavy rain before i posted this just to make sure it works (bone dry now)
1st remove the plastic trim from around the locating holes for the glass roof
2nd remove the 10mm nuts that keep the brackets bolted up ,remove the brackets and(start with thin ones), put washers onto the bolts that point down, start with thin ones (just incase) relpace brackets.
what you are doing is moving the hole for the locking pin towards the ground, whitch in turn pulls the glass further down into the rubbers .
this should take about 20 mins each side .
after each set of washers try with a hose pipe, if it leaks fit another washer, but you will come to a point where the roof will not want to lock.
this is a 100%working fix, no more leaks , if you have any problems pm me and ill talk you through it

if you remove the plastic trim on both sides you will see what has tobe done (it has pi$$ed down in newcastle for 2 days now and not a drop)

just join up with photobucket then add photos to your account, then just copy the link under the required photo and paste it here, easy
plus its handy to have anyway for somewhere to keep your photos, incase your house burns down or similar

i just did this mod and took some dodgy pics. Only got the drivers side but it's pretty similar for both sides.
For the rear most T bar bracket
First step is to remove the seatbelt from the door pillar. The 14mm bolt is under the cover so slip a narrow flat bladed screwdriver under the cover and gewntly prise up. It will pivot far enough for you to get the rachet in, 14mm socket
next remove the coat hanger screw, just prise up the cover with said flat bladed screwdriver and then er unscrew the screw
so next we need to remove the speaker trim. Er just use the screwdriver and gently prise it away from the bodywork.
Once done you'll see the two screws holding on the trim that runs up the door / window pillar. Remove the 2 screws and gently prise it away from the car body. You can move it far enough back to get into the tbar socket bolts. 10mm socket required. Once there you'll figure it out easy enough. Just remember to put the washers against the body side of the bracket! otherwise you'll need to take it apart again hehe
Refit is just retrace your steps above. Passenger side is the same for the rear most bracket
The front trim just prises away from the pillar, the passenger side remove the grab handle first.
Front bracket shown below
Cheers paul for the trail blazing Now I'm just waiting on rain, in Scotland, go figure

nebother alan , that will not be long then .
what eles i noticed was after the washers have been fitted the glass is nice and tight, after a few in and outs of the glass it feels right .
if the water still comes in after a few times , another washer will cure it.
a bit of feed back wouldnt go a miss

typical, been p1$$ing down all week and the only time I use the car it was sunny! Passenger side T bar has no creaks at all from it, the drivers side had a bit just at the windscreen pillar so another washer added and hopefully no more creaks = no more leaks when driving

im sure this has been posted here before, or it might be on mr2oc.
i did this to mine about 2 years ago and it worked for about 1 year before i needed to do the silicon seal trick and again this year its got worse again.
there is nothing quite like new seals, but while i refuse to pay the £120 for them i will continue sealing up with washers and sealent!
