Small update :

Working being done on the ..‘Predator’’.. this Monday 16.10.17 - then a dyno booked for 20.10.17.

Last visit to the dyno - roughly 1.8 bar = 570 bhp with x2 small gasket blows on the adaptor between the manifold and downpipe... this will be welded.

So, returning to the dyno as mentioned on the 20.10.17 this time hoping for :
2.2 /2.3 bar - roughly 630/640bhp ..

Keep you updated..:)

I know it's been a long, mentaly challenging and expensive journey for you but why are you looking for so much bhp ?

My mr2 had 470 bhp+ and i found the car almost unusable anywhere but a straght line. :pale:

I have since bought a 4x4 and it is so much more fun, i can floor it in the wet and around corners, apart from straight line craziness i found life with the mr2 somewhat wanting, 600 bhp+ just seems crazy :pale:

Anyway, I Hope things come together for you on the dyno and you can finally put all the expenditure behind you and start enjoying your two, albeit maybe having to wait until next spring :oldtongue:

Hi Martin,
How you’re well.!

The answer is simple -
when I started this project this is what I wanted to achieve.. ! :thumleft:

Obviously that amount of power is not idea in a 2 for he Road, the planned is to lower the boost - say to 1.8 bar with 550bhp .. but knowing the engine, fuelling, Turbo are all safe within there limits..

The 2 has been set up with light throttle control so around town you would not believe how easy she is to drive. Also, we’ve mapped her so the fun happens around 3,900 revs onwards..

Have you sold you’re 2?.. what 4x4 have you got - Scooby or Evo?..

HaHa, No, i went for something a bit more subtle, a TT Rs :thumleft: My mr2 is being broken as the paintwork is a disaster and stopping me getting what the car is worth. :(

Update—:)

As, usual on Friday morning the gremlins were out and around the car.. Si - mentioned she didn’t start or drive smoothly on the way to the dyno..:(

Si - is investigating, could be as simple as COPs, sparkles or regulator..!
Anyway the Predator wasn’t happy.

Just a few runs were done the results were very similar to before around 550bhp - but the boost had dropped down, from : 1.8 bar to 1.6 bar... that was due to other work Si did on the car..:)

So happy with that - :thumleft:

Another up date - hopefully tomorrow..:)

Sad news.

Unfortunately my project has now come to a end - I have finally reached my goal of creating a solid 5s-GTE engine running 557bhp.

As we know with projects we do them, then move onto new challenges.

As such - The Predator will be up for sale in due course.

Any interested parties, before I start a For Sale thread - feel free to PM me.

Wow, someone's going to get a mental car. Still, selling so soon after hitting your goal? Seems almost a waste of time? :-s
