Hi,
Have any of you swapped to manual steering from power steering?
Got a rack and column etc and just test fitted it for size. seems simple enough except for the hole in the frunk that isn't big enough for the manual UJ to fit though.
Is the hole in the frunk the only issue?
Any other pointers could be great.
Thanks

Re: Manual steering conversion
Hi mate. I was the one you bought it from.
I was told that id need to just enlarge that hole you say and everything else is a straight swap over.

Re: Manual steering conversion
yeah measured the columns and manual and PS are the same, just the middle shaft with the UJs differes there.
The manual rack bolts up fine and lines up with that chassis hole, but as you say, it's a little tight
Going to make a template and mark it out for cutting tomorrow.
all the track rod ends are the same and have fitted new ones. stupidly split one of the boots so going to replace both anyway.
So just the chassis hole? cool, thanks
