BLACK SCORPION

Post by larry93 »

first picked up my 2 few years ago and was lucky has she had a lot of goodies on here from or jap friends hks 3040 turbo and hls racing waste gate witn screamer pipe hks 272 cams hks pulleys and forged engine with uptated crank and not confirmed but stoker kit
850 injectors and hks evc 4
Image
engine is superb but body shell was tired so needed to source a new shell.
Geeman a well known member on here had a shell that seemed suitable so mate picked it up for me

a lot oof bits had been stripped of it as you can see but my old shall had some good bits
so the transfer began
firstly sourced a body kit from ebay race designs front bumper skirts and spats got them sprayed and fitted
sourced a carbon fibre spoiler and enkei rpo1 split rims
transfered in the red leather mk3 seats
radtech rad and new radiator fitted
Image
Image
out cam the engine out of the old shell
Image
new engine bay preped for transplant

engine totally checked over when out the car os giken twin plate clutch fitted ,new thermostat ,fan belt ,new turbo support bracket made as manifold kept cracking also welded on a support bracket for front engine mount as the 2 slave cylinder bolts kept coming loose . thr front and rear mounts were replaced with polybushed
i replaced all the piping as it was getting old and totally refabricated the oil return pipe as this was causing problems due to heat.
compression check was carried out and 180 i all 4 cylinders and leak down test with no isssues.
Ian got one of the snap on cameras that go into chambers and the pistons were all checked and valves .good news definatly forged internals
Image
Image
and them refitted into car
Image
all the finishing touches done
finished article

out of the workshop

finished

apexi fc and commander was in old shell so transfered across mapped by Lyndon to 1.8 bar and she was dynoed at 400 hub power
the evc maxed out at 2 bar so ill have sourced a new apexi still to be fitted
oil pressure water temp and oil temp gauges installed as well as digital boost gauge
hks turbo has been totally refurbished by turbo dynamics and exhaust ceramic coated
jetex air filter 4"

the best partis i have done all this work myself with the help of jaffa ian and yanni and the feeling of satisfaction is superb. This has been a labour of love and taken 12 months to source and fit all the bits to date

so far best 1/4 mile time is 11.4 and 11.6 at totb im still aiming for high 10s and reckon at the pod this can be acheived at santa pod once new boost controler is fitted

more to come :D

Nice. It's a good feeling when you know you have done all the work yourself and not paid someone to do it for you as well as being easier on your pocket.

Mine has the name 'Black Death' as she is always trying to self distruct and wanting to be fixed
