Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
hi as title how hard is it to get a set of roadster seats in to a mk2 do they simply bolt up to the subframes or is there more involved ?
would it be better to buy a pair of aftermarket seats ?
thanks for any help
I couldn't say for sure but I doubt they'll just bolt in, never know though. If you can get a picture of the underside of the mk3 seats you could compare the rails and should be able to work out exactly what needs doing. I'd imagine it'll involve welding.
cheers for info
seems not that hard however ive just found a pair of leather celica gen 7 seats in mint condition for a good price so would the same apply for them and has anyone ever done this ?
i cant decide what to do
ive found a mint set of red leather mk3 facelift seats and a mint set of celica gen 7 black leather both around the same price but i cant decide what to go for :S
both have slight scuffing on drivers bolster mind but thats easy repairable right ??? lol
this is the cloth celica seats in a 2
im sure many of you have seen roadster seats in a mk2 ]
what should i go for please help
You need to fit them in the car and drive it before you can decide Alan as I have had quite a few different seats in my 2 including custom welded up frames which I then found uncomfortabe or the position wasnt right. Eventually I sourced the recaro speeds which I have had on two different subframes.
cheers for the info but it may have come a little late lol as ive just bought a pair of red leather roadster facelift seats
im sure i can manage to get them right to a point there comfy
